Tanzania Envoy To India Speaks To Times Now | Tanzanian Student Assault Case

The Tanzania High Commissioner to India John W.H. Kijazi while speaking to TIMES NOW said that he is in touch with the Ministry of External Affairs and an action will be taken soon. “When you have something like this there are reactions to come. I don’t know if this is the case of mistaken identity but students were attacked who were not involved in this accident. But if you come to think of it, why did they beat them because there is some anger towards the black, which is racism,” added the Envoy. Five persons have been arrested for the alleged assault and stripping of a Tanzanian woman with the Karnataka government today saying it viewed the incident “seriously” but rejected suggestions that it was a racial attack. As the incident on Sunday night took a serious diplomatic turn, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said five men had been arrested and that Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj spoke to him. A report would be sent to her, he said.
