A group of senior Indian leaders has met Kashmiri leaders in a bid to broker peace in the troubled valley. A curfew and a shutdown call have paralyzed normal life in Indian Kashmir for nearly 60 days. Seventy-one people have been killed and more than 6,000 wounded. India has urged its security forces to act with restraint as they try to keep protesters off the streets and quell near-daily violence. But some have accused troops of using excessive force.
