Test tube babies: IVF treatment rises after end of one-child policy

For decades, China’s parents were prevented from having more than one child by a strict population control policy. The country relaxed the policy in 2013, allowing families to have two children if either one of the parents was an only child. Then at the beginning of 2016, the policy ended altogether, allowing all families to have two children. But many parents are fast approaching the end of their child-bearing years, and are increasingly resorting to assisted reproductive methods to have a second child.
