South Korea recently announced it will deploy a US-supplied anti-missile system in its southeastern county of Seongju. The Defense Ministry has said the location of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system will counter threats from Pyongyang. Washington and Seoul announced the deployment plans last week causing backlash from neighboring Beijing and Moscow, which have repeatedly expressed opposition to such military decision.
