Thailand is cracking down on migrant workers from neighboring countries, claiming they are “stealing jobs from Thais.” The move comes amid fears that anti-immigrant sentiment is rising, as the Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy stagnates. Human rights groups see growing animosity toward immigrants in Thailand, mirroring similar trends elsewhere in the world.
