After the military coup in Thailand in 2014, many business people were keen to see an end to the instability and street protests that had disrupted the economy for nearly a decade. But the current government has failed to steer the Thai economy out of choppy waters, and growth has remained below expectations with falling exports and investment. Many are concerned that a yes vote for the proposed constitution on Sunday will not resolve Thailand’s social and political conflicts. CCTV’s Tony Cheng spoke to Thai citizens about the issues that concern them ahead of this weekend’s referendum.
