The 5th World Internet Conference seeks collective governance in cyberspace

The fifth World Internet Conference (WIC) opened in the river town of Wuzhen, east China, on November 7, attracting about 1,500 guests from more than 70 countries and regions. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the conference, calling for collective governance in cyberspace and the creation of a vigorous “community with a shared future in cyberspace.” The three-day event aims to promote exchanges, mutual learning, cooperation and sharing in the digital fields and push for peace and development of the global cyberspace.
