The Juvenile Divide | Times Now Special

The juvenile convict in the December 16 gang rape and murder case is set to be released from the remand house in less than a week’s time. The juvenile, often reported to be the ‘most brutal’ amongst the six men convicted for the crime, was under the age of 18 when he was arrested. He has turned 21 now, spending the last three years in a detention house. His impending release has sparked a debate, not just in the urban society, but also in the very village that the juvenile left behind. Even as the impoverished family awaits the juvenile’s return, villagers wonder if reform is possible for the convict. Here’s a special report.
