The world’s highest altitude swimming race was held on Sunday in Guide County, Qinghai Province, at an altitude of 2,200 meters in the Tibetan plateau.

74 swimmers from 14 countries joined the race across the Yellow River.

Low water temperature, high altitude, and thin oxygen, all make it especially challenging for swimmers in the winter competition.
