Thousands of Japanese protest as security bills near approval

Tens of thousands of Japanese protesters rallied on Wednesday, as parliament moved close to pass bills for a defence policy change, which could allow troops to fight abroad for the first time since World War Two. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s administration had planned to start the final question session at parliament on the security bills. But the session was delayed as protesters were blocking the entrance.
