Thousands protest against EU free trade deals in Brussels

Thousands of demonstrators marched through Brussels on Tuesday to demand that the European Union abandon a number of planned transatlantic free trade deals. The demonstrators protested the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada, claiming that the trade deals would give more power to multinationals while depressing food, environmental and labor standards.
