Thousands rally in UK’s Manchester against austerity

Tens of thousands of Britons took to the streets of Manchester to protest against austerity measures on Sunday during British Prime Minister David Cameron’s Conservative Party annual conference. Police said that about 60,000 people joined in the protest outside the conference venue. The protest was largely against the British government’s austerity policy, which has been cutting welfare and public spending since 2010 in order to deal with the country’s financial crisis.
