Three British scientists awarded Nobel Prize for Physics

Three British-born scientists have been awarded this year’s Nobel Prize for Physics. David Thouless, Duncan Haldane and Michael Kosterlitz, all of whom work and live in the US, shared the award on Tuesday for their ground-breaking research into strange forms of matter. The Nobel assembly at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm said their works opened doors to develop new applications in both materials science and electronics.
