Tian’anmen square decoration completed ahead of V-Day parade

Floral and lighting decorations at Tian’anmen Square in the heart of Beijing have been completed ahead of celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII.

Two Great Wall-shaped floral decorations have been established on the Tian’anmen Square, where a military parade involving both Chinese and foreign troops will be staged next week.

Smaller-scale floral decorations have been put in place along the Chang’an Avenue, a major thoroughfare through Beijing.

The decorations will remain on show for a month following the parade and last until the National Day on Oct. 1.

China has a series of events planned in the run-up to the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII, culminating in a military parade on Sept. 3 in Beijing.
