Have you seen a wedding dress made from tissue paper? A science and technology conference was held recently in Beijing, where models wearing snow-white wedding dresses strutted their stuff, wowing the crowds. It was almost unbelievable that such beautiful dresses were made thanks to new papermaking technology.
According to the designer Zhong Feng, the skirt of the tissue wedding dress was five meters in diameter, possibly making it the largest of its kind ever made. Thanks to European advanced 4D embossing technology, a 3D structure was made using absorbent pads, guide tubes and air cushions.
How strong is this technology? Testers placed the high-tech paper towel in a dripping device, where 150 drops of liquid were applied, before six coins were placed on top of it. Amazingly, the paper towel did not break.
