Top Police Officer’s Name In Charge Sheet | Sheena Bora Murder Case

After CBI brought NewsX founder Peter Mukerjea under its probe scanner, sources say that the investigation agency’s next axe could fall on a senior Maharashtra police officer, in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case. According to sources, a top cop’s name could feature in the charge-sheet, for alleged destruction of evidence and for aiding the accused. This development puts focus back on the Raigad botch up of 2012 by the police, when there was a mix-up of remain samples recovered from the forest of Penn. However, this particular angle was not probed further. The CBI on Thursday arrested media tycoon Peter Mukerjea in connection with the sensational Sheena Bora murder case. Peter Mukerjea is the husband of Indrani Mukerjea, who is an accused in the Sheena Bora murder case. The CBI, which was handed over the case on September 29 after an apparent turf-war between the ousted commissioner Rakesh Maria and the new incumbent Ahmed Javed, had questioned Mukherjea for hours before it was decided to place him under arrest, the sources said. The probe into the sensational case, which was personally supervised by the then Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria, was later handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) by the Maharashtra Government considering its various aspects including the suspected money trail.
