Torrential downpours wreak havoc in north Europe, US and Cuba

Torrential storms have lashed parts of northern Europe, America and Cuba in recent days, leaving several people dead. In Paris, downpours halted the French Open tennis tournament featuring world number one Novak Djokovic. And a prison in Saran in central France had to be evacuated, with some 400 detainees shifted to other facilities. Meanwhile, authorities in the US ordered evacuations along the swollen Brazos River in Texas on Tuesday, ahead of what could be the worst flooding to hit the state in more than 100 years.
