Trump authorizes doubling tariffs on Turkey and admits relations ‘are not good at this time’

As tensions mount between the two NATO allies, US President Donald Trump says he has authorized higher tariffs on Turkey. He’s increasing tariffs on aluminum to 20 percent and steel to 50 percent. Turkey is one of the world’s largest exporters of steel and the US is its biggest customer. Trump also admitted relations with Turkey “are not good at this time.”
