Turkey Coup Attempt: Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the situation is completely under control

The death toll from Friday night’s failed coup attempt in Turkey has risen to 161, with 1,440 people injured, according to the country’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim. 2,839 soldiers have been detained until now on suspicion of coup involvement. During a press conference on Saturday, Yildirim announced the uprising has ended, saying those responsible for the coup will be punished. “The situation is completely under control,” said Yildirim in Ankara, flanked by the ministers of justice and interior as well as Turkey’s top general outside his offices in the capital.
