Turkey may take part in a major operation to expel ISIL from the Iraqi city of Mosul. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he will propose that Turkish troops work with the Iraqi military, despite objections by Baghdad. Ankara will implement alternative plans if Iraq rejects its request. Tensions have escalated between the two countries over the presence of Turkish troops, who are training Iraqi forces to fight the jihadists.
