Turkey strikes ISIL as tensions mount near Syria border

Turkey says it has pounded ISIL jihadists in Syria with new artillery strikes. Tensions have flared on the Turkey-Syria border since 54 people were killed in the bombing of a Kurdish wedding in the nearby city of Gaziantep. On Tuesday, two mortar rounds fired from an ISIL-controlled area in Syria hit the southeastern Turkish town of Karkamis. Three others hit the center of the Turkish border town of Kilis.
