Turkey to halt EU migrant deal if no date given for visa-free travel

Turkey’s EU Affairs Minister Omer Celik says Ankara will stop implementing a migrant deal if the bloc does not provide a precise date for granting visa-free travel for Turks. The deal reached by EU and Turkey earlier this year has helped to sharply cut the number of refugees and migrants reaching European shores. The other end of the deal includes speeding up work on Ankara’s membership bid to the 28-nation bloc and Turkish visa-free access to the EU.
