Turkey withdraws forces from north Iraq camp

Turkey on Monday withdrew forces from a north Iraq camp near the city of Mosul where Baghdad says they have been deployed without its permission. The move may help defuse a bitter diplomatic row with Ankara. But it did not specify if they were moving farther north into Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region, or leaving altogether. Baghdad had sharply criticized the deployment, terming it an “incursion” that violated the country’s sovereignty.
