Turkey’s policy shift on beating IS

The Somalia-based militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on last Sunday in the Jazera hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia. At least 15 people were killed in the blast. Religious extremism is on the rise, and threatens not only the sub-Sahara region and the Middle East, but also China and the rest of the world. Meanwhile Turkish military aircraft bombed Islamic State targets in the north of Syria last Friday, and thousands of police officers kicked off the raids against the IS and PKK members simultaneously in 13 provinces of Turkey after a wave of deadly terror acts in the past few days. It is the first time Turkey has played a direct and aggressive part in fighting against the IS, today’s dialogue will discuss the deep reason behind the change.
