Turkish police seize control of anti-Erdogan daily in midnight raid

Turkish police raided the headquarters of the country’s largest newspaper, Zaman, in Istanbul, late on Friday night, using tear gas and water cannons. The move came hours after a court placed the daily under the management of trustees. The newspaper is staunchly opposed to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
