Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced his country’s biggest-ever operation against Kurdish militants. Turkey has intensified its crackdown against those it accuses of having ties with the Kurdistan Workers Party. Recent efforts include taking over two southeastern councils run by a pro-Kurdish party. The government also suspended more than 11,000 teachers on Thursday for alleged ties with Kurdish militants.
