Twin suicide bombing kills 43 at Hezbollah-stronghold in Beirut

A twin suicide bombing rocked Beirut southern suburbs region of Burj el-Barajneh Thursday, which reportedly left at least 43 people killed and more than 240 wounded.

Reports say the Islamic State jihadist movement has claimed responsibility for the bombings.

The hardest-hit region is considered the stronghold of Hezbollah, who has been fighting alongside the Syrian government against the Islamic State Sunni radicals since 2011.
