A policeman was injured on Wednesday (May 11) in a grenade attack by militants in Anantnag District of south Kashmir, police said. Militants hurled a grenade towards a stationary vehicle of a senior police officer outside the court complex in Anantnag town around 1.00 PM, a police official said. He said the grenade exploded on the roadside, causing injuries to constable Ghulam Hassan, a personal security guard of the police officer. Hassan was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police officer, presently posted with the State Vigilance Organisation, had gone inside the court premises when the attack occurred, the official said. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
