Typhoon Megi makes landfall in east China

Typhoon Megi, the 17th typhoon to hit the region this year, has made a landfall in Quanzhou city, east China’s Fujian Province, at 4:40 a.m. Megi brought winds of up to 118 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, China’s National Meteorological Center has continued to issue an orange alert, the second highest of a four-tier warning system, for rainstorms on Wednesday.
