Britains’s parliament will hold a vote on whether or not to launch a military campaign against the Islamic State inside Syria.
In a statement on Monday, British Prime Minister David Cameron said a debate and a vote will be held in the House of Commons to extend the airstrikes to Syria.
The vote is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
He added that the IS poses a threat to Britain’s national security, and “this is the right thing to do”.
France ealier called on the United Kingdom to expand its iar operations into Syria.
Britain is apart of US-led airstrikes against the extremist group.
If the measure is approved in Parliament, British air strikes are expected to start shortly afterward.
