Ukrainian pilot swapped for two Russians arrives in Kiev

Ukrainian military pilot Nadiya Savchenko arrived home in the capital Kiev on Wednesday after nearly two years in a Russian jail. Her release was a part of a prisoner swap in which two Russians held in Ukraine were returned to Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin said the release was on “humanitarian considerations” in the hope that it will help reduce tension in the Ukraine conflict and avoid new loss of life.
