UN boot camp: Today’s teens, tomorrow’s diplomats

Welcome to the boot camp for aspiring diplomats! Around 2,000 teenagers from across 18 countries descended on the United Nations headquarters in New York this week for the Global Classrooms International Model UN conferences. The students, aged 14 to 18, will step into the shoes of international peace brokers, and will be asked to play their roles in navigating crises and negotiating peace. Organized by the Lebanese American University, this intense three-day boot camp has an ambitious goal: to engage young leaders and equip them with the tools to address the world’s toughest issues.
