The United States and Afghanistan have said that a regional leader of ISIL was killed in a drone strike last month. Hafiz Saeed Khan was named head of ISIL’s “Khorasan province,” which includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, and neighboring countries. The Pentagon said Khan was killed in an air strike in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar Province, as well as 300 other senior commanders and fighters of the terror group.
