US crude prices edge up on dip in inventories

US crude oil prices edged up in early Asian trading on Thursday, supported by a fall in crude inventories. According to the US Energy Information Administration, crude inventories fell 3.6 million barrels in the week of December 4, compared to an expectation of an increase of 252,000 barrels. This is the first time crude inventories declined after 10 straight weeks of build-up.
