The United States prepared on Friday to mark the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina which devastated the city of New Orleans. US President Barack Obama was in the city, visiting neighborhoods and community centers, ahead of the remembrance ceremony planned for Saturday. Ten years ago this week, Hurricane Katrina barreled in from the Gulf of Mexico, causing roughly 2000 deaths and displacing one million people.
