US warships make landmark visit to strategic Vietnam port

Two US warships have made a port call at Vietnam’s strategic naval base at Cam Ranh Bay on the country’s southeastern coast. The US navy says submarine tender USS Frank Cable and guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain made the visit on Sunday, which marks a brief but symbolic return for US combat vessels to what was a crucial logistics complex during the Vietnam War.
