“And I can say, 15 years on, to tell our Commander Hugo Chavez, wherever he is, and Fidel Castro in Havana, the mission has been accomplished. Fifteen years after your orders, we have built a new path of brotherhood, cooperation and happiness for our people.”
Under the program, over 200,000 Cuban professionals have worked for Venezuela in the past 15 years in the sectors of health and education.
In return, Havana received about 100,000 barrels of oil on daily from Caracas free of charge.
