VHP Workers Call For Bandh In Karnataka

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has today called for a bandh across various districts in Karnataka, amidst the escalating tension in the state over celebrations of Tipu Sultan’s birth anniversary. VHP workers have planned ‘rasta rook andolan’ across Mysore, Gadag, Kolar, Tumkur, Chikmangalur, Mandya districts. On Novmber 11, VHP workers held massive protests in Bengaluru over the death of the VHP leader, who succumbed to his injuries a day earlier, after clashes broke out during a protest against Tipu Sultan Jayanti celebrations. 50-year-old Kuttappa, organizing secretary of VHP in Kodagu, was killed and over 30 other activists were injured during a protest march in Madikeri, about 250km from Bengaluru.
