Vijay Mallya Leaves India

The Newshour report has confirmed as Attorney General has told the Supreme Court that UB Group’s former Chairman Vijay Mallya has left the country. The Apex Court has now issued notice to him on banks plea for freezing his passport. Notice will be served to him through the Indian Embassy in London. Mallya will have to reply to the notice by March 30, the next date of hearing. The applications also demanded that he furnish adequate guarantees to secure his presence in court. Banks are trying to recover loans worth Rs 9,000 crore from Mallya related to the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines founded by him.
