VVS Laxman Selected Kumble as Coach While Being Shareholder in His Firm

The BCCI today (June 30) clarified that allegations of Conflict of Interest against former India batsman VVS Laxman being a shareholder in chief coach Anil Kumble’s company are “erroneous”. There has been media reports that Laxman, who was a part of the three member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) alongside Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, was a shareholder in Kumble’s company ‘Tenvic’ when the interview for the chiefcoach’s post happened. BCCI has clarified that Laxman had sold his 5 per cent stake in the company in March this year and it clears him of any possible conflict in the selection of Kumble as Indian coach.
