A National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer, who had handled several cases related to the Indian Mujahideen (IM) including the arrest and probe against its India chief Yasin Bhatkal, was shot dead past midnight Saturday by unidentified men at Sahaspur in Bijnor district of western UP. Police said his body bore 22 bullet injuries.

After National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer was shot dead in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, an FIR has also been registered against two unidentified men but no motive mentioned in the FIR. TIMES NOW learn that the NIA officer was shot 24 times. 12 of those bullets were found inside the body. NIA has asked Uttar Pradesh ATF and the special task force to update them about the probe’s progress. Even the family of the NIA officer believes that it was a well-planned attack.
