A man from Shuozhou, northern China’s Shanxi Province has been detained after driving his car into a traffic police officer. On the evening of August 15, the driver was about to be pulled over for an inspection. But instead of stopping, he accelerated, swerved around the vehicle ahead and struck a traffic police officer standing in the middle of the road.
The officer, who was knocked to the ground immediately, was rushed to hospital for treatment. The driver escaped, but was arrested several hours later. It later emerged that the man had been driving without a license for over three years.
