Watch: ‘election village’ chief confesses to taking ‘huge bribes’

Lin Zulian, the democratically elected chief of Wukan village in south China’s Guangdong Province, has confessed to abusing his position to take huge bribes, stated local government authorities at a press conference on Tuesday.

Lin was the popularly-elected chief in a democratic vote in 2012, which came after massive protests in Wukan against land grabs by officials. Lin was one of the organizers of the protests. Take a look at the video of his confession, which was released by local authorities.
