Water pollution haunts India

Water pollution is a major environmental issue for India. A recent toxic foam spill in Bangalore has caused concern in the local community. The waste looks like fresh snow, but is extremely toxic and flammable, posing a danger to the city’s residents. A World Health Organization study says that out of India’s 3,119 cities and towns, just 209 have partial sewage treatment facilities, and only eight have full waste water treatment facilities.
