The Second Hospital of the Beijing Armed Police Corps has temporarily closed its doors to new patients, after becoming embroiled in a scandal over a college student who had sought an experimental cancer treatment at the facility, but later died. The hospital administrator, China’s armed police, said it would cooperate fully with an investigation into the incident. The hospital initially claimed the treatment was part of a research collaboration with Stanford medical school in the US. The US university said today that it has not cooperated with any Chinese hospitals, however, and denied any link to the case.
