The rainy season in China has arrived earlier than usual this year, as a result of the longest and strongest El Nino phenomenon since 1951. With heavy downpours expected, the country’s Ministry of Water Resources says there is a strong possibility that floods will hit the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
