The Zika virus was first found in a monkey in the Zika forest near Lake Victoria, Uganda, in 1947. It has historically been found in parts of Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. Aedes aegypti, or commonly known as yellow fever mosquito, is the vector mosquito. The species are also blamed for the spread of Dengue. People bitten by this kind of mosquitos are likely to be infected, but not all the infected will develop symptoms. The infection ratio stands at one fifth.
