A recent report said that social media had overtaken television as young people’s main source of news. Many say this trend and the rising use of mobile phones to access news are undermining traditional business models. In February, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of convergence between old and new media. As traditional media races to compete against digital and mobile, will a new model of media convergence finally find its footing?
