WHO: 92 percent of global population live in polluted areas

The WHO has released a new air quality study, confirming that 92 percent of the world’s population live in regions where air quality levels exceed the organization’s limits. It indicated some three million deaths a year are linked to exposure to outdoor air pollution, and warned the effects of indoor pollution are just as deadly. The report also said nearly 90 percent of deaths related to air pollution occur in low and middle income countries.
