Why China’s contribution in WWII is overlooked?

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of anti-Fascist War in 1945, when China had already been at war with Japan since 1931, more than eight years before the Nazi invasion of Poland.
 
As it was the main eastern battlefield during World War Two, the battle between China and Japan was among the longest and bloodiest in Chinese history, lasting for a total of 14 years and leading to 35 million casualties in China.

But why China’s contribution in WWII is overlooked?
